OSAAT Anything Goes .. With Flowers

Good day to you all.  Hope everyone is feeling well.

Today sees another challenge for One Stitch At A Time.  A nice easy one this time because so many of us like to use flowers in our creations.  We would love it if you were to share  one of your lovely flowery creations with us - could be flower embellishments, flowery paper or a flower image being the focus.  I had the joy of using Cuckoo Clock from Ike's Art which can be found here at Stitchy Bears Digital Stamp Outlet. One of my teamies (Sue P) used this image last year and I was really hoping I would get the chance to use it too - and here it is.

My Card

Ingredients
7" x 7" card -
Digi Image - Cuckoo Clock from Ike's Art
Clock Die - Marianne's Craftables
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Leaves - Spellbinders Foliage
Sentiment - computer generated
Pearls  - Hobby House
Promarkers to colour
Paper from stash - sorry, don't know where it is from.

I hadn't intended to make this monochrome (or very nearly) but when I found the paper it just seemed to happen.  The quote is one  I heard my uncle use many times when I was a child.  He had a wealth of quotes, sayings, parable-type stories to fit every occasion.  I am sure that it was his influence that has made me love quotes too.

Please pop across to the blog and check out the DT's work and consider entering a creation of your own.  This is the prize you could win.

Take care!

Away In A Manger - Rudolph Days

Good morning.  I keep promising myself I will make a card for Scrappymo's Rudolph Days and then never get around to it.  Well, this month I finally managed it, hurrah!

My Card

Ingredients
6" x 6" card base
Stamp - Lili Of The Valley
Spellbinders  Labels 16
Flower and leaves - Marianne Creatables
Papers - LOTV Petal Fresh
Promarkers to colour
Pearls from Stash
Sentiment - computer generated

I love making Christmas cards; I think I could happily do it all the time.

Well yesterday was a lovely day.  I think spring has remembered that she is supposed to be here.  I spent some time sorting stuff out in the garden so I had a few aches and pains last night.  Oh the joys of getting old... lol!  Still, if that's all that's wrong with me I cannot complain.  I hope everybody is feeling well and not suffering, but if that's not the case then please get well soon.  Virtual hugs to Mrs Duck - and I also sent her some virtual scratch mitts ... lol!

Take care everyone.

Christmas Card Club # 11 - Gifts

Good morning friends and fellow bloggers.  Thanks for dropping by again today.  I cannot believe that another two weeks have gone and it is time for another card for our little group. This time it was Zoe's turn to choose and she asked us to make a card with gifts.  Now that seems fairly simple you would have thought.  How wrong can you be!  I have been right through my stock of Christmas stamps - fairly considerable- and my Christmas digi images and found nothing.  Fortunately I remembered my LOTV coloured Art Pad and found this image which has some Christmas presents on, and a sentiment stamp with some gifts on too.  Phew!  Saved!

My Card

Recipe
6 inch square white card base
Backing papers - Papermania "Home for Christmas"
Sentiment stamp - Little Claire's  Christmas Sentiments
Flowers and leaves from my stash box - Brittania roses and rose leaves
Pearls from Stash

I just needed to add some glitter and it was done.  So that's another one for my steadily growing Christmas card stash.  If you would like to see what the rest of the girls have made you will find their links in my right side bar.

Well it looks as if we might have a reasonable Bank Holiday weekend - I said that very quietly ..... JIC!!! Hope you all have a good time whatever you have planned.

Born To Be Wild

Good morning dear friends and fellow bloggers.   I hope everybody is "Tickety Boo", as Mrs Duck is wont to say!

I was asked to make a card for a gentleman who will be 85 this week.  He still has a real love of motorcycles and has a good sense of humour so I thought this might be okay.

My Card

Recipe

6" x 6" card base made from Dovecraft silver card stock
Red card from stash
Industrial Grunge metal digi papers from Cardmaking Downloads
Papermania Chronology Cogs and Gears dies
Computer generated sentiments
Promarkers to colour.

I have had the digi image for a few years now and it was still in its zipped file, but there was no name or other information with it.  I had a feeling it was a Just Inklined image so I checked the website and there it was.  Seems strange that there is no reference to it in the zip file received.  Two sentiments are included - Born to be Wild and Free Spirit but since I wanted the sentiments to match I computer generated them using Staccato font.  I then just added some black pearls into the cogs.

Luckily my friends were pleased with the card and they say Ken will love it, so that's  okay.  I also put a quote inside (I do love my quotes!) which said " A man is not old until regrets take the place of dreams" which is by John Barrymore.

Birthday Hoot

Hello everybody.  Hope you are all feeling well and enjoying life.  It is time for the fifteenth challenge at Get Creative .  Today the challenge is an ingredients one : one printed paper, one fibre, one sticker.  Now I obviously wasn't thinking clearly because I used two patterned papers and by the time I realised it I was too far along to change. My Card

Recipe
Papermania card stock to make 6" square card base
Crafters Companion - Cream pearlescent card
Making Cards - Patterned papers (Extremely old!)
Butterfly sticker from stash
Feathery fibre from stash
Promarkers

We would love you to join in the challenge with us.  The prize is three digi images of the winners choice.

OSAAT Challenge 237 Anything Goes ... With Appreciation

Good afternoon to you all.  Time for another challenge at OSAAT. This time we would like to see your project showing appreciation.  It doesn't have to be a card; we love seeing any type of project. My image is  Kyo from Stitchy Bear's Digital Stamp Outlet.  The designer is Kaz Krafts and you can get it  here. This includes a pre-coloured image as well as a line drawing. I actually made use of the pre-coloured image this time since it was the perfect match for the paper I had chosen.

My Card

Recipe
6" square card base made from card from The Range
Pink pearlescent card - Pennies Worth
Raspberry pearlescent card - from stash
Cherry Blossom paper - Docrafts "Lucy Cromwell"
Dancing Lanterns die - Spellbinders
Lacy Circles - Spellbinders
Auvergne - Sue Wilson
Fan - digi image found online
Gems - from stash

Because the image was pre-coloured this card came together so quickly and so easily. If only they were all like this!  I hung the Dancing Lanterns with embroidery thread so they really do dance - well sway anyway! I computer-generated the sentiment and then cut the die cut in half so it resembled a fan.  Some tiny pink gems finished it. The Auvergne and Provence dies are rapidly becoming my go - to favourite dies right now. The plain dies are a perfect backing for so many images.

The prize you could win.

Well that's all from me today.  Hope you are all well.

Showers Of Blessings

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers.  I don't know about showers of blessings but we are certainly getting plenty of rain showers, some of them pretty heavy too!!  My card today is for a very dear old lady of 94, a friend of my mum's from church.   We always go and see her when I visit my sister.  She is so amazing in that she goes out for a walk every single day, unless the weather is really bad and since she lives part way down a fairly steep hill that's not bad going.  Hope I'm doing that when I'm 94!  She loves my cards so I make a point of sending her something every now and again instead of just a letter.

Today would have been my mum and dads birthdays and they would have been 88. (Yes, they were born on the same day and in the same year.) Now they are celebrating their birthdays together - Happy Birthday my darlings!  Miss you still.

My Card

Recipe
6" square card made from Papermania card
Spellbinders Labels 1
Spellbinders Decorative Labels 1
Spellbinders Umbrella Trio
Spellbinders Rainy Day
TLC freebie-  digi checked  paper
LOTV - Buttons and Bows

After sticking the digi paper to the front of the card I used SB Label 1 to die cut the centre and then attached a die cut that I cut from SB Decorative Labels 1. I computer generated the verse of scripture and die cut it using one of the smaller dies from the Decorative Labels.  Quite a simple card but also quite effective.  I was spoiled for choice when it came to paper for the inside because there were so many colours to choose from.  I eventually settled on the pink paper from LOTV Nitwits Collection Buttons and Bows.

Hope everybody is keeping well. Take care.

Christmas Card Club # 10 - Village Scene

Good morning to all my friends and anybody who has just dropped by. Hope everybody is keeping well.  It is more like April than May we are having so many heavy showers.

Another two weeks have passed and  it is Rita's turn to choose our topic for the Christmas Card Club, which is to depict a Village Scene.  When I first started card making, seems so long ago, I bought two Christmas stamps and this is one of them.  I really love them both.  They were made by an American company called PSX which no longer exists.  I have a number of other PSX stamps and they are fabulous - so detailed and deeply etched rubber.

My Card

inside card

Recipe
Blue Sapphire pearlescent card - Brothersleep
Village rubber stamp - PSX
Sentiment rubber stamp - Stampendous (also very old)
Snowflake Lattice e/f - Sue Wilson
Auvergne & Provence dies - Sue Wilson

I cut my base card and folded it to 5" x 7".  I inserted the front into the embossing folder and then inserted the inside and embossed it so that I would get the embossed side on both parts, rather than a de-bossed inner. After stamping the image in French Navy Fabrico ink I used lashings of Twinklets Diamond Dust to make it very icy. All it needed than was die cutting some of the blue and white card to frame the image.  I added some pearlescent snowflake peel offs for a little more sparkle. Well, it's Christmas!!!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, particularly those of you who are still at work - these days are so precious!

Take care!

Christmas Card Club # 9 - Stars

It's time for another Christmas card for the Christmas Card  Club - actually it's way past time, but as I said the other day I was visiting my sister and so had to make and post this now.  This time the theme is stars and was chosen by Mrs A.

My Card

A very simple card this time. 5" x 7" base card, matted with turqouise card from stash.  The starry background is a freebie digi paper which I have had for some years.  I have a feeling it is from Bearly Mine but I can't be certain.  I computer generated  the verse and die cut it with Spellbinders Oval Bliss. The large star is a Signature dies and the smaller ones Memory Box Cosmic Star Set cut from self adhesive silver glitter film which I found at the back of a drawer.  I have no idea how long I have had it.  The verse is a favourite of mine and I use it a lot for my Christmas cards.

Hope this finds you all well.

OSAAT Challenge # 236 For A Special Lady

Good day to you all.  Time for another challenge at One Stitch At A Time.  This time the challenge is to make something for a special lady, which I'm sure we can all manage so we hope you can join us.  I am using the image Three Butterflies from Floppy Latte which you can find at Stitchy Bears Digital Outlet

My Card

Recipe
6" x 6" card base
Backing paper - Papermania Capsule Collection "Parkstone Pink"
Raspberry pink pearlescent card - from stash
Marianne Creatables - Anjas Squares
Fabric butterflies - from stash
lilac gems - from stash
Promarkers to colour

I have just realised that one of the gems has dropped off the larger butterfly. Why is it that we never notice until it is too late? I used Grape Ice stickles on the coloured butterflies and the smaller fabric one.  I have left off the sentiment until I know who I will be sending this to - but I think it will probably be a thank you card for my sister.

This is the prize you could win if you enter our challenge.

I hope you  are all well and enjoying the long Bank Holiday Weekend. Take care!

Sorry I have been AWOL for a while.  I went up north to visit my sister.  We are very close but don't see each other often enough since we live so far apart.  As you can imagine we had a great time and lots of laughs - did both of us the power of good!  Nothing like a good laugh to make you feel better about everything.

What a change in the weather.  It is so cold here that I'm sure it will snow.  We have had some hail stone flurries over the past day or two so let's hope it doesn't get worse.  I will get round to some blog visiting later today and I'm sorry for neglecting you all.
